There's just something...

about rocking a snuggly warm baby to sleep. The way she curls up in my arms and lays her head against my chest. I always wonder what she dreams about.

Yep sappy, but just what I was thinking when I put Amelia to bed tonight. I rarely rock her anymore actually because she does pretty well if you just lay her down. A little fussing but for the most part she's asleep with in 10 minutes or so. Tonight was one of those nights she was having a tough time and needed her mommy. I have a feeling that those nights are going to disappear faster than I can believe because we are closing in on Amelia's first birthday! I can hardly believe that we are 3 months away. Who knows what those three months have to bring but I know that whatever comes our way I will think about these nights always.

  1. aahhh..how sweet. I try to remember how I will miss these days when Preston needs to be rocked every night :) I think you need to give me some tips on how to put my child to bed without needing to be rocked...he will be 2 in Sept and it might be time!

  3. I have no idea why it says that my post has been removed.... weird. Anyway we had a few screaming nights here and there but for the most part it has paid off to just lay her down and let her go to sleep. She still has her night though where I can tell nothing except rocking is going to do the job!

  4. I love this as well. Lily goes down to bed on her own most nights. Read a book and then she knows it's bedtime, but there a few nights....usually when Grant puts her to bed that I rock her for less than 2 mins and then she lays right down and falls asleep. So nice to cuddle though! :)
