We had an appointment with Dr. Mooredian and everything went very well! Amelia's was amazingly well behaved and very cooperative during the whole process. The only tears came when she was playing in the exam room and hit her head on the table :)
They did an EKG, ECHO, and also the normal xrays and blood pressures. Dr. M was very happy with how things were progressing and had a lot of positive thoughts about Amelia's future. The aortal arch looked great and the mitral valve was about the same as last time- which was good news as well. He doesn't feel that we will be looking at a surgery any time in the foreseeable future, which was a great relief to both Eric and I. It is possible and probably likely that sometime in her life she will have to have the valve repaired or replaced. Since the stenosis is minor we are really hoping and praying that they will be able to go in and repair it with a few cuts rather than replacing the whole thing.
Only time will tell but for now we are feeling very grateful and relieved about the news we received today and pray that things continue on this course!
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. We feel so lucky and blessed to have all of you in our lives and of course to have our little Amelia Bug. What did we do before her??? Sleep maybe I guess.... :)
